Eliminating Blood Stream Infection in Patients with a Dialysis Catheter
The ESRD NCC is offering a National Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) Learning and Action Network Webinar Event, “Eliminating Blood Stream Infection in Patients with a Dialysis Catheter: A Matter of Life and Death.” The webinar will be held on April 14th, 2015 at 4:00 – 5:00 PM ET and is available free of charge. Nurses and technicians can receive 1.0 CEs. Infection is the second leading cause of death in the ESRD patient population. This event will educate participants on the effect of the most lethal HAI impacting the ESRD population: blood stream infections (BSI) in catheter patients. Experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will present on proven methods to prevent dialysis catheter HAI’s and discuss tools that assist in the implementation of these prevention techniques. This educational opportunity will also review quality improvement activities that created significant reductions in dialysis catheter BSI rates from specialists who have successfully led these efforts in the field. Registration for the event is online at https://qualitynet.webex.com, National HAI LAN Event: Eliminating Blood Stream Infection in Patients With a Dialysis Catheter: A Matter of Life and Death. The webinar is available free of charge. Nurses and technicians can receive 1.0 CEs through the Northwest Renal Network (Network 16), provider # CEP 16217, which is certified through the California Board of Registered Nurses. The NCC appreciates Network 16’s collaboration, which allows these CEs to be offered.
