Elizabeth Anderson, LCSW, DSW - Assistant Professor of Social Work, Western Carolina University
Dale Lupu, MPH, PhD - Associate Research Professor, George Washington Unviversity

Biographies:

Dr. Anderson practiced as a hospice and palliative care social worker, bereavement coordinator and Social Services Director for MidAtlantic Renal Coalition. She is passionate about how to empower health care teams to provide the best patient-centered care and supportive care by infusing social work skills with a focus on empathy and evidenced-based communication skills training.

Dale Lupu, MPH, PhD, is an Associate Research Professor at George Washington University where her current research is in integrating palliative care into nephrology care. She served as a member of the CMS Hospice Payment System Technical Advisory Panel and is currently a member of the ACGME Milestones work group for hospice and palliative medicine.

The Presenters will:

  • Discuss how to recognize the symptoms of stress and anxiety.
  • Provide exercises individuals and families can do to relieve stress.
