Presentation Summary:

A panel of patient leaders will share their experiences with racial and sexual bias in healthcare, access to care, and communication. The panelists will identify what they view as long-standing systemic health and social inequities that contribute to health disparities. They will also discuss opportunities for actionable solutions.

Event Objectives:

• Create a learning space for patients and providers to share experiences and strategies for engaging in diverse communities and creating equitable and inclusive environments.
• Create practical tips and recommendations pertaining to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness that providers can adapt to their own healthcare settings.
• Strategize ways that the ESRD provider community can be more inclusive towards future patients that are representative of historically underserved populations.
