Recognizing and Managing Compassion Fatigue
Patricia Smith, Certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist - Compassion Fatigue Awareness Project
Patricia Smith is the founder of the Compassion Fatigue Awareness Project. As a certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist, she has been writing, speaking and facilitating workshops on the subject nationally and internationally for the past 20 years. She has authored five books and training materials on the subject. Additionally, Patricia is a Helen R. Whiteley Scholar and has twice been awarded writing scholarships sponsored by the University of Washington, Seattle.
The presenter will:
- Educate attendees about symptoms associated with compassion fatigue
- Help attendees recognize compassion fatigue symptoms in themselves and others.
- Discuss strategies for social workers to deal with compassion fatigue
- Provide resources about compassion fatigue.
One CEU will be provided for attending this meeting.
