Dr. Karen Pinksy joined the medical Staff of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Chester County Hospital in 1996, beginning as a pediatric hospitalist caring for children who required emergency care or hospital admission. Over the last 24 years, Dr. Pinsky’s role has evolved considerably and almost continuously. She spent 15 years as the medical director of Newborn and Pediatric Services of the CHOP Care Network at Chester County Hospital. Dr. Pinsky has expanded her role into clinical quality as the Chief Quality Officer, overseeing the important work of keeping patients safe while delivering state of the art care in the community.

Dr. James A Curtis is the Director of Clinical Value Optimization at Chester County Hospital. James brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from his previous positions in the Pharmacy Department. He worked in several roles in his time at CCH, including as a Critical Care Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator and, most recently, as the Associate Director of Pharmacy. His leadership in the Pharmacy Department led to the development of the unit-based clinical pharmacy program, and he spearheaded numerous initiatives which improved the safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of medications.

Timmy Nelson is a kidney transplant recipient from West Chester, Pennsylvania. Timmy was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2013. He used peritoneal dialysis before receiving a kidney transplant in 2013. Timmy is an active member of the ESRD Network 4 Patient Advisory Committee and an ESRD NCC Legacy SME. Timmy has visited 22 dialysis facilities across Pennsylvania and Delaware and spoken with just under 500 patients to offer them an opportunity to talk one to one with a patient that successfully managed PD and is currently thriving with a transplant. Most recently, he’s worked with Chester County Hospital to educate patients about COVID-19 vaccines.
