The 2021 NPFE-LAN Summit will take place on February 22-23, 2021. This virtual event will be held over two days and will feature sessions by patients, ESRD Networks, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) leadership on a variety of topics.

11:30am – 12:25pm ET Best Practices for Coping During COVID-19 - Patient Panel Discussion CMS leadership will lead a patient panel discussion on how patients have coped during the COVID-19 pandemic.
12:25pm – 12:30pm ET Transition to New Session  
12:30pm – 1:30pm ET The Road Home A patient led panel discussion on the challenges and benefits of home dialysis therapy.
1:30pm – 2:00pm ET Break  
2:00pm – 2:55pm ET Myths and Barriers Related to Kidney Transplantation – How We Can Overcome Them A patient led panel discussion on the barriers patients face getting on the kidney transplant waitlist and what actions they took to get transplanted.
2:55pm – 3:00pm ET Transition to New Session  
3:00pm – 4:00pm ET Be the Captain of Your Own Care Two patient advocates share their experiences facing kidney disease and their hopes to improve kidney disease patients’ lives.

11:00am – 11:30am ET Welcome and Introductions Welcome to day 2 of the NPFE-LAN Summit from CMS leadership and the ESRD NCC.
11:30am – 12:25pm ET Should People with Kidney Disease Get the COVID-19 Vaccine? During this session attendees will understand the risks of COVID-19 in patients with chronic kidney disease, learn the potential side effects and benefits of COVID-19 vaccines, and receive information that will help you make an informed decision about getting immunized against COVID-19.
12:25pm – 12:30pm ET Transition to New Session  
12:30pm – 1:30pm ET Health and Safety at Work During the COVID-19 Pandemic This session the presenters will provide work place health and safety tips, review rehabilitation and employment services available for kidney patients, and share patient work experiences during pandemic.
1:30pm – 2:00pm ET Break  
2:00pm – 2:55pm ET The Power of the Patient Voice – Being an Effective Subject Matter Expert Leaders from patient advocacy organizations share how they use their voice to impact change in how kidney patients receive care.
2:55pm – 3:00pm ET Transition to New Session  
3:00pm – 3:55pm ET COVID-19: Staying Safe in a Multigenerational Home This session will provide tips for staying healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic while living in a multigenerational home.
3:55pm – 4:00pm ET Transition to New Session  
4:00pm – 5:00pm ET You Are Not Alone – Coping with Loss & Grief During a Pandemic Grieving while coping with the fear and anxiety related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
