Quality Improvement Activity (QIA) Innovators Program

QIA Innovators BadgeEnsuring the provision of the highest quality care for end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients is the responsibility of the entire renal community. It requires a collaborative effort between providers, patients, stakeholders, and other partners, who are dedicated to putting patients over paperwork.

QIA Innovators is a partnership between the ESRD National Coordinating Center (NCC) and members of the ESRD community across the United States who are committed to putting patients first. By working together, the QIA Innovators can increase awareness and encourage improvements in the many ways facilities can achieve the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) national quality improvement goals for:

  • Reducing bloodstream infections (BSIs).
  • Increasing the number of patients dialyzing at home.
  • Increasing the number of patients placed on the transplant waitlist.

Quality improvement efforts, such as QIAs, are essential to helping providers identify methods by which they can continually progress patient care. QIAs help to identify and augment what is already working and to capture innovative and creative ways to break through barriers.

By committing to use your communication channels to share best practices, educational tools, resources, and QIA outcome data provided by the ESRD NCC, you can help boost transparency in healthcare and advance the renal community toward the goal of improving the quality of care provided to all ESRD patients.

QIA Innovators are spotlighted as stakeholders and partners who have pledged to help communicate CMS national QIA goals and promote strategies that help put patients first.

Organizational logos and links to committed partners are featured on this webpage. Additionally, QIA Innovators are provided with a QIA Innovators logo that can be used on their websites and materials, indicating their partnership with the ESRD NCC.

Thank you to our QIA Innovators for their commitment to improving the quality of care for ESRD patients.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the End Stage Renal Diseases (ESRD) National Coordinating Center (NCC) do not directly or indirectly endorse the services of one dialysis provider or transplantation center over another. The QIA Innovators Program helps to identify organizations that have agreed to help disseminate information to the ESRD community in an effort to support CMS with achieving national quality improvement goals in the areas of bloodstream infection, home modality, and transplantation.
